Trekking in Val d’Orcia: San Quirico d’Orcia – Bagno Vignoni

San Quirico d’Orcia is a medieval jewel, a village full of things to see, try, taste and experience.
Important stop along the Via Francigena, before leaving you cannot miss these medieval streets where time seems to have stopped.

But what to see in San Quirico? You are spoiled for choice: you can start by visiting the splendid Horti Leonini, a perfect example of the classic Italian garden. You can continue your visit of the village by heading towards the Collegiate Church of San Quirico and Giulitta, where Palazzo Chigi is also located.

If you take the SR 2, know that, obviously calculating the round trip:

Duration: 1h and 5 minutes (total 2h and 10 minutes)

Length: 5,3 km (total 10,6 km)

Or, slightly longer the road to Ripa d’Orcia and Bagno Vignoni:

Duration: 1h e 12 min (2h and 25 minutes)

Length: 5,3 km (10,6 km)

 

Once in Bagno Vignoni, visit the iconic spa with its iconic rectangular tub, visit the town perhaps stopping at some spa for a nice stop in a modern spa center. Or if you love nature, go to the Parco dei Mulini where fantastic gorelli of thermal water flow among the rocks: a typical postcard of these lands! After Bagno Vignoni, then you can leave to return to San Quirico d’Orcia.
