Parco Vivo Mount Amiata

Here stands Parco Vivo, a cooperative that promotes activities and services created to enhance Monte Amiata and the surrounding areas (such as Vivo d’Orcia, the town on the slopes of Monte Amiata).

Monte Amiata is the highest mountain of volcanic origin in all of Tuscany: here you can not only practice sports, but also stay and eat in the midst of nature with the family. You will find a series of trails that hug the mountain and can be traveled on foot, by bike or on horseback. Furthermore, it is possible to rent mountain bikes for downhill, or ride the equipped bike park. Obviously downstream of the mountain, you can also rent e-bikes. Here you will find the vast centuries-old beech forest on the slopes of the Amiata where you can play sports, walk, regenerate yourself in the green.

During the summer, for the more adventurous, do not miss the opportunity to visit the Adventure Park, a spectacular park where among lianas, Tibetan bridges, cables, nets and walkways you can test your climbing skills among the trees, with routes for all levels and ages. On the other hand, for lovers of winter sports, Monte Amiata turns into a fantastic solution for a picnic in the snow with friends or family.

If you are interested in guided tours, you can visit the center of the mountain! Accompanied by a specialized guide, you can follow the course of the water to get to the heart of the rock! In addition to visiting the springs inside the ancient volcano, you can visit the Amiata Mining Museum Park, discovering the history of the mercury mines of Monte Amiata, traveling back in time and visiting places once populated by miners. The paths and sites that can be visited are many, and you can choose the one that interests you the most.
